    Erzincan is located north of Fırat River in East Anatolia Region and one of the oldest cultural centers of Anatolia. Being on Historical Silk Road route, the city had been under the sway of Hittite, Urartu, Median, Persia, Hellene, Roman empires, and came under the domination of Turks after Battle of Manzikert in 1071.
